Vertical Tine Tiller | 21A-70M8563

208cc Vertical Counter-Rotating Rototiller with 16" Tilling Width

Model No. 21A-70M8563

The vertical-tine tiller creates the smoothest, fastest tilling experience. It features vertical tines that work together like a giant eggbeater, spinning in opposite directions to instantly drill down, then till forward through the dirt at their full depth. This forward motion minimizes vibrations and fatigue. And with Just One Hand® operation, you can walk on solid ground, not your freshly tilled soil.

Motoculteur dents verticales 21A-70M8563 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 16.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from satisfy When i first read about this machine i thought it was an innovative idea so i decided to make the purchase. This is an excellent tiller however it does have its drawbacks. If you are going to plow in hard soil you have to repeat the plow,it is not going to give a fine soil on the first plow. If it encounters a hard spot it is going to skid over it and you would have to return to that spot. If it encounters any resistance you are going to have trouble plowing straight. This tiller is very heavy therefore very hard to turn so it you are thinking of purchasing keep that in mind.Setting those negatives aside this machine is a joy to have. It does excellent work and in soft soil runs on its own.It will save you lots of time and hard work. Go get it !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs more engineering, but a good start The tiller does what it stated in the video, however its a straight in and out operation on display. Its needs a travel speed out the garden and tines not working. Also the reverse operation needs to back up and no tines again spinning. Also the turning of the tiller in the garden is a bear and needs a lot of strength to do so. My Troy-Bilt Tuffy was ok, but a killer when it hit something in the ground, out of ground like a rabbit. Its a good start, but needs better turning and also put the tires on correct guys, I have to turn them around to get to the valve stems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Tiller Had this tiller for 2 months now. Easy to assemble, started on 2 pull travel speed to and from garden is very slow I ended up putting it in neutral and pushing it to and from garden it handles roots and rocks as good as any tiller I've owned. It is heavy so it does not jump around when tilling. I would like it to have larger tires to speed up travel. I like the gear drive. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend this tiller

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHAT A TREMENDOUS MACHINE I bought this outstanding tiller pretty much as soon as it came out. We have used it extensively for the past two years in our one acre garden and love it. One big thing is it has started on the first pull every time but one. That was after it had run out of gas. It makes a seedbed in one pass. It doesn't till as fast as the conventional rototiller, but no labor wasted in bed preparation makes it much more efficient. The ability to drive with one hand allows me to use it from my power wheelchair. I'm a disabled veteran with very little use of my arms or legs. This machine has been a Godsend. THANK YOU TROYBILT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for the Money I have used the tiller a few times and found it easy to handle as it runs smoother than conventional horizontal tine tillers. You really can steer it with one hand. It does move slow, so I usually leave the drive out of gear to move it around. It will dig down to its max depth in a single pass and that saves time on new ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this tiller a lot Out of the box, I would have given this three stars, but now that I have learned to use it, I give it 4.5. Since the rating system is only integer based that rounds to 5, but be advised. You have to get used to the fact that under its own power it is just a very slow mover. That doesn't matter much when you are tilling but it will when you are trying to move it uphill to, say, the garage. Having said that, this little beast has some wonderful new features. Unlike a traditional TB rear-tined machine, you can stand this one on a spot and it will dig down without moving when it hits some resistance. That means you can dig a nice hole for rhubarb or a tree without the back and forth or the kicks of the more traditional TBs. The really cool part about it is that it also doesn't kick when in normal tilling mode which makes it very easy to guide and work. I don't think there is an easier machine in the world for this kind of tilling. I am running mine through the very heavy clay of Fauquier County in Northern Virginia and it isn't giving me any serious talkback when in the ground. The other reason I can't give it five stars (though I really like it!) is because it is a bear to turn around. If you raise the rear end to make a quick turn--like you would with a more traditional TB--the counterweight will quickly ground and prevent you. That and the slow forward speed are small prices to pay for a really nifty and innovative machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Veritcal Tiller This made tilling my garden INFINITELY easier. It arrived in perfect condition, easy to assemble (Just a handle and a few cables to snap in place), and it started up on the FIRST PULL. Smooth running machine - My crops are thanking me as well as my back. One pass does it - Two if you have a lot of weeds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2.5" Stone will shut you down If I understood the design better I would have reconsidered. First... counter balance interferes with maneuverability of tiller. Balance is to close to ground when lifted to turn. There are 2 tine drive belts. Only one actually drives tiller, the other remains in play to scrub the useless guide pulleys. A hard days work at full depth will burn up a belt so that you find yourself searching manual to how to change. After 2 hours use gear oil from tine power shaft cover showed itself. The gear oil leak has continued to multiply in area, covering complete housing. The motor tends to gallop even after warmed up. Have to run partial choke to smooth out. Hate being a test bed for poor engineering.
