Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Choice! I have a small yard which is difficult to mow because of all the small hills and roots I have to maneuver around. The 11 inch rear wheels and the front wheel self propelled option works great for me. I also like the option of the rear bagger, the side discharge and the munching features that this mower offers along with the powerful Honda motor that doesn't bog down like my old mower. I especially like the one pull startup and the easy maneuverability of this mower. This is my first self propelled mower and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is tired of pushing a mower, let the mower do the work! I actually enjoy doing yard work again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasure to use This is for my Troy TB240, 160cc with a HONDA engine. The Honda engine starts soooo easy....one or two pulls and I am good to go. The height adjustments are plastic, I would have preferred metal. I wish the height adjustments would cut the grass higher like about 1/2" more or so. It is a bit funky when changing the oil...you have hold the oil collection pan to right underneath the oil outlet when tipping the mower to the side. If not, oil spills on the engine deck. Also, not sure if the wheels have ball bearings or not, or just a plastic sleeve that will wear out faster... Be sure to change the oil after the first month.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy I have a Troybilt rider mower that has given up the ghost. My family had purchased this mower to get us through the weekend to mow our three acres while the rider is going to get fixed. The grass was a bit outta hand after a good spring and lots of Western N.Y., rain. The mower just pushed through with out much problem. Although it does "clog" up a bit while in self-propelled gear. It goes a bit too fast. But even in the really thick grass it did not stall once. Good power and easy to use. We would recomend it. Just dont try mowing three acres of hill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smooth mower I really like this mower. It is relatively quiet, and easy to walk behind. Takes a load off of me. Have only owned it two months and somehow punched a hole in the plastic transmission oil pan which is way too low and unprotected from jagged objects. I improvised by inserting a screw in the hole with a washer dabbed with silicone. Coated the whole bottom with silicone and then protected the plastic transmission pan with a piece of metal cut out from a beer can screwed to the bottom beneath the transmission pan. I would suggest a metal pan instead of plastic or else a protective plate be put on at the factory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes mowing fun! I bought the TB240 to replace a Troy-Bilt mower that I have now which is 23 years old. The older Troy-Bilt still runs but as I am getting older I wanted a self propelled mower to make cutting the grass easier. This mower fits the bill perfectly! The Honda engine is super easy to start and runs great. The mower is easy to maneuver and leaves the grass with a nice manicured look. Adjusting the height is a snap and I like how the variable speed handle is set up. Not sure yet on the durability as I have only had it about 2 months but the reason I bought it is evident from previous brand experience. Overall the TB240 is a really nice mower and perfect fit for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Troy-Bilt TB-240 Self Propelled Mower Great Mower! My husband and I needed a lawn mower that we didn't want to spend a arm and a leg for and we came across this Troy Bilt TB-240 mower. I have mowed lawns for years and I have to say that this particular mower is the best one that I have ever used!! The price was just right and the ease of using this mower is great!! I actually enjoy mowing the lawn now and get it done in no time flat!! It does a great job! I have neighbors who have lawn men come with their riding mowers and I can tell you my lawn looks better than theirs!! I would recommend this mower to anyone who is looking for a nice lawn!! Sincerely, Theresa Staats

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving my mower I have never owned a self propelled mower before this one, and I'll never own anything but from now on. My old mower was a hard starter after it warmed up, so I love the fact that my Troy-Bilt starts on the first pull every time. I'm very glad I decided on the larger rear wheels, as my back yard is ruff and this mower doesn't bounce around like my old one did. Rear bag is easy to remove and replace. I would recommend Troy-Bilt, and this mower to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lawn Mower I had a Briggs and Stratton lawnmower that I kept having problems with the rubber seat in the carburetor. Every year I had to replace the needle and seat in the carburetor. This year every time I tried to start the mower to mow my lawn I had to remove the float bowl to unstick the float. then it would be great until it was the next time to mow the lawn. Got fed up and bought this mower. I looked at the parts breakdown for the carb. on the Honda and it has no rubber seat. I love the gas shut off valve this mower came with as I can turn it off after mowing and run the engine out of fuel. This empties the fuel out of the carb and keep it from gumming up.
