Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incomparable Hello I am from Romania i have the Pro-Line FRT Garden Tiller from 2006, and it has completely changed the way i work the soil. I chose to buy this tiller because i wanted a high quality product even its 8000 km away from me. My neighbors have tillers from other brands but none is easy to use and fast like mine. I worked the tiller a lot from day one until last month the worm gears broke down and the oil seals also, still i am not disappointed after all the huge work the tiller did something has to fail. I found a MTD dealer that has some parts but i still have to find a way to buy 3 parts from US Overall i am very satisfied with this tiller and in the future Troy-Bilt wil be my first choice

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pony Handle Bar Design Over all I'm happy with the Pony ES Garden Tiller the one problem I came across is the bolt used for setting the handle bar position. The bolt used is too short with the spacer that keeps the handle bars in place. The bolt pops out of the nut pulling the thread of the nut out as well as strip the nut. I find this a very poor design flaw for the Pone ES that can stand to be changed one with a longer bolt a lock washer and extra nut to double tighten the bolt to keep it secured or re-designing the entire set up using a stiff spring and a rod with a handle on it allowing the user to pull on the handle releasing the slotted washer to move the handle bars to the desired position. I'm really surprised the Troybuilt company designers have not come up with this idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tiller My dad always had a Troybilt. I purchased another brand years ago. This year I purchased a Troybilt. The Troybilt definitely out performed the other one. The FRT really made the difference. I can handle the tiller with one hand. The depth of cut is also no problem. For the price, this machine is well worth it. Thanks, Troybilt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Excellent This is one great tiller, except -- The depth mechanism isn't worth a dam*. It does NOT raise the tines enough to CLEAR the ground when on the max-height setting. For heaven's sake, how does one let a machine get to market with such a flaw? The bar which touches the ground is not wide nor long enough to support the tiller; it sinks into the soil, i.e., you never have to make a setting on the depth bar because the tiller always keeps digging deeper. How can that be? Someone dropped the ball on the depth mechanism and I am not happy about that at all. Now, how to fix this -- Add another notch on the depth bar about 1 1/2" or more above the top notch. This will raise the tines enough to clear the ground (just!). Add a flat 1 1/2" wide (no wider; you must keep clear of the tines) by 9" long steel plate (steel flat stock) to the bar which drags on the ground. Center the plate on the bar -- it MUST be clear of the tines on both sides. Bend up a little the front and back of this plate so it doesn't dig into the ground. I guess you have to weld the plate to the bar -- or attach with nuts, bolts, and angle iron -- I haven't decided yet. This oversight is completely unacceptable. For such a fine (and expensive) tiller, it is a shame that design and operational control was so poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Duh ..did the set up tasks..oil,gas,etc..checking the air in tires..one valve on the outside of rim where it belongs..on the other side air valve on the inside of rim..real pain to get to..only way to fix is take tire off rim and reverse the tire..I guess there is a right hand facing tire and rim and a left..I got two left hand wheels..not a big deal but air valve should be on outside of both wheels..the thread make it useless to just take wheel off turn it around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OK ..everything seems to be fine..still mad about tires and wheels..mine has two left-hand wheels..air valve is on inside of one wheel.. aside from that everything is OK..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Troy/Built Tiller, I Love It !!! I have used my tiller every year since I bought it in 2005 !!! Its never failed to start, and it runs like a top !!! I've always had from a 1/2 acre to an acre garden and it tills it up really good . Its so easy to plant after I till it up, its always about 6 to 8 inches deep, I just love it !!!! I had to change my belts this year after 13 yrs, not bad, they was easy to change and I got my garden out again. The belt was the first thing that has happened to my tiller since I bought it !!! I would recommend a Troy/Built Tiller to anyone young or old, I'm 76 years old and its really easy to start and use. Its really well built and heavy duty, if you take care of it it will last you a long time !!!!
