Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Lawnmower From Experience I bought this model several years ago and been extremely happy with the performance and tech support pertaining to the TB290. Maintenance is minimal because of the lawnmower design. I loved this machine so much that I have given it to my father for ease of grass cutting and he enjoys it for every summertime lawn care. Parts are very easy to obtain through the online catalog as well with helpful staff on the phones to assist you with any questions. I upgraded to the XP490 and satisfied with the purchase. You can't go wrong with Troy-Bilt ! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disgusted I bought this mower in June. I unboxed it, put it together following all instructions and it would NOT start, either by the electric starter or by pull! I finally called the warranty and they sent me to a company that is to fix/service Troy-built. After looking at this mower, they were told it was unrepairable! I've taken the mower back to the company were I purchased it. They have made phone calls but here it is August and I still do NOT have my money back!!!!! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice features I've been using this mower for about six weeks. I like the front wheel drive but not the drive belt adjustment mechanism. It's difficult to get it adjusted for various grass heights. It tends to pull to the left when mowing and the engine seems to be underpowered when mowing taller grass. It's a nice looking mower and the electric start has works good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique Applications The top three benefits; 1. Homes in my neighborhood are on small lots and the mower is relatively quiet and relatively more neighbor considerate and friendly. 2 The mulcher blade is very enviromentally beneficial and effective because I can raise the deck height and chop up Fall leaves that what would easily fill twenty large lawn/leaf bags 3. it is very easy to collapse the mower and store in anout a 2x2x1 foot box during the off-season in NJ Go Troybilt. Best regards, Don

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work properly I bought this a month ago and the electric has never worked. I hate taking a brand new mower in for repair. It's very heavy and difficult to transport. Let alone finding a repair shop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good motor, reliable I bought this mower because it was a good deal. The electric start worked great for one season, then the battery will no longer hold a charge so now I have a mower that the electric start will not work, but the mower still starts on the first pull. What I thought would be a huge convenience turned out to be exorbitantly expensive to repair and not worth the extra expense, still a good reliable motor and mower.
