Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst purchase ever I have a troybilt snowthrower and it is a good one, so I bought a troybilt riding lawn mowerTB30 R.. After mowing it looked like a bunch of kids had rolled around on the lawn. After a few days you could see how uneven it had cut. I put up with it for a month and a half. Then while cutting on a straight stretch of lawn with no bumps it jumped in to the next higher gear. Scared the heck out of me, what if I had been next to the curb or heading at the house, wow!!! When I had finished I put the mower into the highest gear and it made a grinding noise and I stopped it and put it into a middle gear. Called the place I bought it and returned It.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little mower We have had our mower for a little over one year. It is a handy mower for small lots. Like some others comments, the reverse mowing capability isn't the best. In my experience, some times it works fine and some times it won't let me mow in reverse at all, even after setting the switch in the proper position and pushing the button. My problem with this mower is that a week and a half ago I had a weld break on the left front wheel. A repairman I got from the corporate web site came and picked the unit up for repaid. Next day he called and said parts were back ordered. Is broken left front wheel a recurring problem in this mower, or don't the warehouses keep sufficient inventory?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's nice being # 1 Read many reviews and have trust in Consumer Reports. TB30 starts and runs without flaw, cut at highest level (5) in hottest period, now in Sept., on 4. I won't go lower. Great on flat surface, but had experienced an insecure feeling on any small incline. Have since adjusted to many insecure areas, and I just don't cut in the small area that I don't trust for stability, better to be safe. Where I don't cut with the rider, I cut with the TroyBilt weed wacker (small area of incline). All in all, it is a fine machine, turns on a dime, easy handling, leaves no clippings. This is the sixth time I've used the mower, and quite satisfied with my purchase decision.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Retired Agriculture Teacher I purchased this for my small yard because I'm getting older and harder to walk long distances behind mower. I could hire someone to mow, like my neighbors, but I like taking care of my own yard. I spread about 8-10 yards of mulch and compost each year and have a tow cart to make the job a little easier. Mower has performed as expected. No problem with knobs or starting. I would have liked steering to be a bit lower or adjustable. Like others, I don't care for shift knob between my legs making shift to reverse slow and an annoyance. Because of 18" turning, I use the reverse more than I'd like too. Overall, it's about what I had expected. Yes I'd recommend it to anyone with limited space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Inpressed! Purchased this unit 2 weeks ago for my residential yard due to arthritic knees, So far after 4 cuts this machine is very impressive and does an excellent job. Surprised at how tight it mows around bushes and brick edging, which eliminates alot of trimming. A couple of issues though...the shift handle keeps coming off in my hand if I pull up on it and the clutch is extremely jumpy, so be careful until you get used to it. My unit didn't come with a deck wash. I purchased a Troy Bilt deck wash kit, but couldn't install it because couldn't driil a hole through the steel body. Burned out 2 drills trying, Over all...I would strongly recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good purchase, Less need for walk behind mower I find the battery very difficult to replace if necessary to remove. Charging the battery is hard to attach because of the cover so close to the battery for placement of the alligator clamps. I only need my push mower for my hilly inclines about 20% of lawn. I have enjoyed my experience and love using the attached bagging attachment as an option well constructed and requires patience to install. A mulching kit was included on my purchase of the rider, Please read questions asked and answered when you review this product. Also ytube videos do a good job on reviewing and going over the how to and performance by actual users.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good little mower I have a small corner lot, but end up mowing both my adjacent neighbors (they are older single women) and I LOVE this mower. Moving from my push mower to this riding mower cuts my time in half! I am also 6'4" and just under 300lbs with a bad hip and knees!!!. First off I fit nicely, plenty of leg room and I am able to stretch my legs so my knees are not killing me when I am done. The break is a little touchy (herky jerky) until you get the feel for it. I don't mow in reverse. And it is super easy to store. Love it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small riding mower. Plus my wife and 11 year old daughter can use it, thus saving dad for other chores around the house! lol

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent but one feature The TB 30 R is perfect for lawns under 1 acre. I cut my mowing time in half. It is easy to use, starts fast, and runs smooth. It also has a fairly decent turning radius. If you have the mower shipped to your residence, the assembly from the shipping crate is easy with good instructions. The only negative is the mowing in reverse. If certain procedures are not followed, it shuts down. It takes both hands plus a third hand would be helpful to maneuver the process. I gave it a rating of 5 stars. I actually rate it 4 1/2 due to the reverse, but the positives lean toward the 5 star rating.
