Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inconsistent and poor height adjustment I've always liked and trusted Troy-Bilt and initially, I thought this mower was good, easy starting meant my sons could mow with no trouble. We quickly ran into issues on two fronts though. 1: The mower surges and stalls out easily. I drain the fuel each spring and only use ethanol free gas, replace the plug and clean the carb. 2: The single deck/front wheel adjustment is terrible. It constantly slips out and drops the front of the mower in the dirt. You definitely get what you pay for with this mower and they cut costs by cutting quality. Not worth the frustration or the cost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Always starts with one pull. I had some difficulty at first on grades. It seemed like it was flooding out. I never had a mower with a gas valve. Now I don't open it all the way and it runs like a TOP. No problems at all since I did that. Not as well made as my Snapper and this is the first time I own a mower with a Honda engine. It is more gas efficient than the Briggs & Stratten engines I have always had. Time will tell if it lasts as long. Also I had a heck of a time putting on the grass bag. It took me a while but I figured it out. I have since grown to like the ease of use. Overall I am very satisfied with this mower. Great performance for a reasonable price...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TB130 XP Is a great mower, except it's bag. The TB130 XP is extremely lightweight, which is worrisome contemplating durability and life expectancy. My previous Troy-Bilt mower lasted so many years I'm not even sure how old it was before it finally died. The XP is incredibly easy to start, in fact after I filled it with gas and oil it started on the very first pull. My only complaint about the XP is the small bag. The bag on the XP is about 1.5 inches narrower than the bag on my older Troy-Bilt and I noticed how many times I had to stop to empty the bag. With a half acre to mow this will increase my mowing time. If you have a smaller yard, or your grass isn't lush, you may not be affected by the bags capacity, but if you have a large lush lawn be warned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not pleased We purchased this lawnmower Feb. 2017. We used it maybe 5 times and it has been sitting in our garage since September as it will not stay running. I can't believe that it is already having issues. We have a little front yard, so it doesn't get used much each mowing. We bought this lawnmower specifically for the front yard. We will definitely NOT be buying another Troy-Bilt product. Our lawnmower for our rear yard, we have had for years and it looks like it has been through the ringer and it is still working. It isn't a Troy Bilt. Beware when thinking of purchasing this lawnmower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Troy-bilt! Just purchased my new lawnmower today. Got it home and set it up per instructions Fueled with Trufuel and took it out for a test run. Not much grass growing here yet but it started on first pull and cleaned up the yard. It has great suction! My machine has the Honda engine on it and hope it gives me a few years of reliable service. Only time will tell if this is going to be a keeper but for now great and no problems. Spring comes early here in New Mexico and will let you know how it is working out later in the spring.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mower with good engine and poor starter cord. The mower mows well ... no problem. It handles easily and pushing it around a 1/3 acre lot doesn't leave me exhausted even at74 years old. And it's generally VERY easy to start. So, why did I take a star off and take it off of durability? Because the fourth time I was preparing to mow the lawn I pulled the cord to start the engine and it was extremely hard to pull and the engine didn't turn over I pulled again. Same result. The third pull resulted in me holding a frayed cord about a foot from the hand grip. I took it to a dealer who asked bug-eyed,"How'd you DO that? Those cords are strong." I told him it wasn't very hard to do at all. He replaced the cord immediately without charge. It started right up. So, I took to star off for "Durability" because I didn't know where else to affect the grade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The XP Predecessor I bought a TB130, the predecessor to the TB130 XP, four years ago and have used it every season since. What makes this unusual is that I live on a very steep, rock infested hill, mown weekly - which no self-propelled mower has withstood for more than it's first use. Other manufacturer's walk behinds have suffered the same fate, although they did last a bit longer than one use. But, nothing has compared to this TB130. It has been the best mower I have used in the past 35 years, and I've used a lot of different mowers during that period. If this newly acquired TB130 XP holds up as well as its predecessor, it will have been a great investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from first year lawn buisnes I was working two jobs. Decided I had enough and I went down to one job. Took my last paycheck and went to Lowe's. Found a Troy bilt mower with a Honda engine and now I'm mowing 6 lawns with this mower per week. I have been complemented on the cut quality and I bag all the lawns except one. The bag is a good size and is very safe. Starts on the first pull every time... Except one time. it was my fault for not pulling fast enough. I even mowed for about 40 seconds with the gas shut off still off on accident once. I mow two lawns on one tank of gas in a supdivision. I can't think of anything wrong with this mower. I wish I could have afforded the TB-490XP because the bigger engine and the 4 wheel drive would be nice for the hills I have to deal with. I am saving money for the TB 490 since things are going well. Back to this mower. I am doing an oil change with Mobil 1 10W30 full synthetic today. I plan on keeping this mower for a long long time even when I get a Troy bilt 4X4 XP mower.
