Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a BEAST!! :) This machine was purchased for two jobs: Mow my 1/4 acre suburban lawn, and take up North to clear trails for deer season. Of course it does a great job on the lawn - took a 1.5 hour task down to about 20 minutes with no sweating! But here's the thing: This weekend my hunting partner and I went up trail clearing. We did everything it says not to do in the manual, made it do things it was never designed to do. Very much "Don't try this at home" stuff. Steep hills, going through wild raspberry bramble 4 feet tall, skimmed a couple rocks... Basically took it out and beat the snot out of it. The TB46 performed like a BOSS! It did everything we asked it to without complaint, and we worked it to the limits of its capacity all day long. Even better - when we'd get hung up on a log or in bad traction, one guy can easily push it out like a toy. Best of both worlds! Took it home, cleaned it off, and it still looks like new. The paint didn't even get scratched from the brambles....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mower I've had mine for 15 months and now it is a paperweight in my garage. I need to take it in for warranty work after the transmission went out going up a hill. The engine is weak. My beat up 20 year old Craftsman had more speed and power than this one. The trans should not have failed in that short of time. I was forced to cut about half an acre with my push mower and weed eater. The ride is not comfortable at all. It beats up my back too much. Zero suspension. Will be trading this one as soon as possible for lack of performance and lack of satisfaction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Your steering is way too loose. The suspension is horrible making the ride very rough. The propulsion system is complicated with a lever for the throttle and a lever for the speed and a clutch/brake. The clutch/brake is very touchy making the ride even more unbearable. I always feel like this thing is going to lurch forward and crash through the back of my shed when I park it. I bought it for my wife and she cannot drive it. It is worthless.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Evaluation TB46 Seems well built but has some problem features: 1.Towing connection seems too light. I will need to beef-it-up to use it regularly, even with a light lawn sweeper... 2. Speed control on the left fender is a MAJOR problem when mowing close to bushes as the control handle can be caught on bushes when trying to mow close. It should be where it cannot be moved by brush or branches accidentally....On the dash board? 3. I like the two controls for blade height and engagement being separate controls. 4. The oil drain and drain tube supplied do not allow oil drainage with out excessive spillage. the steering connecting rod will not allow use of the snap-on plastic drain spout. 5. I will need to fabricate a heaver duty connection to be able to move my "Troy-built" chipper around the yard. Should be standard ....(see 2 above) 6. Very narrow range of oil level on the dip stick. and difficult to read with fresh oil in the engine. And the manual does not seem to give the accurate amount of oil needed at oil change, with or without filter change. Also, the oil drain needs to extend beyond the edge of the engine deck for for convenient and efficient oil change. 7. I like the hydraulic drive, but I dislike the need to take the machine to a dealer for repairs. I have always had repair manuals, with parts list and adjustment instructions with any machine I own, and do most repairs myself. What would it take to obtain a repair manual on this machine? And why is it not supplied?. 8. This machine takes a lot more gas than my old machine and not because of engine size. My exhaust gas analyzer says it is running rich, yet, there is no instruction on carburetor adjustment!! 9. I find NOTHING of help on the web site regarding my machine which I consider a MAJOR negative aspect of owning it.
